April 2020 Marks DV Community Investment’s 10th Anniversary.
Our mission of renewal and revitalization of low-income communities nationwide has never been more urgent. Over the past 10 years, our community development financing activities have directly created over 10,000 quality permanent jobs. The majority of these jobs are accessible to people facing barriers to quality, living wage employment, a key factor in breaking the cycle of persistent poverty.
These 51 projects made possible by New Markets Tax Credits have served to date more than 200,000 people annually, with previously lacking essential services.
In the true spirit of our mission we have allocated our “celebration resources” to focus on our local community members in need.
We were able to deliver as an anniversary gift 200 family toiletry bags to the ICM Food & Clothing Bank in Phoenix, Arizona. The bags were filled with full-size shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, men’s and women’s deodorant, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bars of soap, detergent pods, and wash cloths. DVCI team members were able to include their favorite inspirational statements in each bag.
Founded in the 1980’s, ICM Food & Clothing Bank has a rich history in providing services and supplies for the working poor in Phoenix and currently serves over 200 families a day. ICM believes that every meal, item of clothing or goods donated, provides hope and dignity back to the working poor and works toward ending poverty in our community.
We are truly thankful for our amazingpartners in this effort, Auto House and Bodinet Cleaning, who donated their time and & services to make our 10-Year Anniversary Giving Back Program a reality.Auto House, a local family-owned-and-operated auto dealership, provided necessary transportation services to deliver DVCI’s donation. Bodinet Cleaning, a family-run commercial cleaning service, assisted with the disposal of the product packaging.
We are proud to see the impacts that our NMTC investments have had over the past 10 years which would not have been possible without the amazing organizations we have funded. So much work remains and we are truly excited for what the next 10 years will bring.
