Memphis Business Journal - One year after its official grand opening, the transformation of Sears Concourse into a vibrant, multi-use complex still is a wonder. Despite its closure in the early 1990s, Sears Crosstown long remained a neighborhood fixture due to its behemoth size. Originally built in 1927, the building's various additions, which included catalog distribution and a retail store, brought the facility to a massive 1.5 million square feet by 1965.
