The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the direction of all major financial initiatives and aspects of Dudley Ventures including preparation of current financial reports, summaries, forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. The CFO will play a critical role in developing and implementing business strategy as an advisor to executive management, evaluating and assisting them with the annual budget, long-term strategic financial plan, and economic performance. This position directly supports the efforts and responsibilities for all the Financial Reporting and Accounting Department activities of Dudley Ventures, which cover the entire breadth of reviewing, monitoring, managing and reporting of transactions across a multitude of asset classes. It also acts as a liaison for external advisors, including valuation experts, actuaries, and auditors.

Required Skills

  • Broad finance experience with ability to leverage financial acumen to inform strategic decision making.
  • Proven track record of success in business planning, budgeting and P&L management.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with advisory and compliance services, marketing, and HR to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to critically analyze financial data and reports, including ability to interpret and convey complex legal and financial documents with precision.
  • Strong governance and compliance skills along with experience in a public company environment.
  • Strong negotiation and follow up skills, be a self-starter and goal oriented.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of database and accounting systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment that requires the management of multiple complex entities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to work with many different general ledger and accounting software packages.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of accounting processes and required internal control and procedural documentation.
  • Effective communicator (both verbal and written); effectively interacts and collaborates with team members and business partners.
  • Experienced recruiting, hiring and training new team members.
  • Ability to create efficiencies or solutions for existing or unexpected situations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and minimum of 10 years Finance related experience at both large public companies and smaller companies.
  • CPA required. In lieu of, MBA degree would be minimum education required.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing team of financial professionals at various levels.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large CPA firm.
