Alan Wire Company, Inc. (Alan Wire) a family-owned manufacturer of high-quality wire and cable products, proudly serving the electrical industry for over 50 years, has updated manufacturing equipment at two of their production facilities located in rural Sikeston, Missouri. The additions are part of the company’s ongoing operational strategy to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and workforce safety. The facilities manufacture copper and aluminum 600-volt wire and cable for commercial, industrial, and utility markets across the United States.  Located in a deep distress, rural area with a poverty rate of 31%, Alan Wire creates 17 new full-time new jobs (83% quality) and retains 175 jobs. As one of the largest employers in the region, the company offers tuition reimbursement, as well as promoting from within. Employees can move through the various work cells from repack to extrusion, with opportunities to become lead person on shift and up to supervisor. Without NMTC financing, Alan Wire would have been significantly delayed affecting the company’s overall long-term investment and hiring strategy in the local area.
